I finally gave in...and said yes to one of those motivational seminars. This one was about tech savy realtors. How customers expect realtors to be tech savy but only a handful are. I guess I could say I only learned a couple of things. Most seminars sell future seminars, so I don't appreciate being forced to listen to a sales pitch. However, epro / tech savy is the wave of the future. Being of the younger group and not the retired group who are Realtors I have had to learn about the internet and blue tooth capabilities, the importance of emails and keeping transactions in .PDF files.

I have gone into listing presentations with my laptop and given powerpoint presentations that are personalized for that house and homeowners. Even presented them by projecting them on the wall. Impressive, but not everyone is into that. Marketing tools that I provide seem to be more impressive the the middle and upper aged clients.

I do enjoy email though. I think that is a useful tool. I also enjoy emailing lists of homes for sale, with photos and information on a daily basis to clients. It is nice to keep everyone informed daily. And if the client does not want to have that daily I adjust the mailout. Afterall, a Realtor's job is really tending to our clients' needs and finding them a wonderful home.

But let's face it, as technology increases, Realtors will have to learn to keep up.  Those who are uncomfortable with email and internet will have to catch up. Otherwise they will lose their clients to tech savy people...like me!
